About Our Club/Team/Organisation:

Roundwood netball club was formed in 2001 and we currently play in the Croydon and Metropolitan league. All of our home matches are played at Shirley High School, as are a lot of our away matches with a few being played at various other venues within the Croydon area. We started the Croydon league with one team in division 4 in the 2001/02 season and quickly moved up to division 3 for the 2002/03 season. With another successful season, we were promoted to division 2. With a rocky start to the 2003/04 season, we finished 5th in division 2. With a solid team for the 2004/05 season, Roundwood upped their game and finished top of division 2. Roundwood A finished 5th in the 2005/06 season in division 1. In the 2006/2007 season, Roundwood A team finished 3rd in division 1in the Croydon League, which we are now working to improve on once again for the 2007/08 season. The A Team finished 5th in the MET league and the B team won their division. With so many players wanting to join Roundwood, we started up a 'B' squad, who started their first season in the Croydon League in division 5 in September 2004. In what was a great starting season for them, they finished runners up in their division. This gave them promotion to into division 4 for the start of the 2005/06 season. By the end of the season, they had done all they could to win division 4 and gain promotion to division 3 for the 2006/07 season. Roundwood B finished 4th in division 3 of the the Croydon League and 1st in the MET League, which is a huge credit to both themselves and the club. This year, Roundwood are losing many of their B team as they head off to different universities across the country. We would like to wish them all luck in their studies for the future and hope they have a fantastic time at uni. Make sure you come back to us when you finish though!! The 2006/07 bought another increase in players to Roundwood, especially in the junior section of the club. We stuck to having two teams in each league, and both teams performed brilliantly throughout the season. The 2007/08 season will bring the introduction of Roundwood C team. They will be starting in division 7 in the MET league. Good Luck girls. Roundwood's Present... Roundwood have had a flourish of new players over the past few months, making us a very strong squad. Our members now stand at around 50. Roundwood's Future... We all want our future to be as good as our past, and are putting in lots of time for training to make sure that both teams have a successful season next year.
