About Our Club/Team/Organisation:

Founded in 1907… Luton Town Bowling Club is the third oldest Flat Green Bowling Club in Bedfordshire yet it remains forward thinking and imaginative. We were one of the first clubs in Bedfordshire to adopt coloured shirts as an alternative to the more traditional white… and we were also the first outdoor bowling club in the county to set up a Web Site. We will be very pleased to hear from potential new members, male or female of any age or ability. We are a friendly club with ambition, but don't take our word for it, join and find out for yourself. Facilities The Club plays on a six rink grass outdoor bowling green which is maintained by expert professional contractors. Men's and Ladies' Changing Rooms are provided together with associated facilities and on-site the club has access to comfortable dining & function rooms plus a licensed bar and a fully equipped kitchen.The playing season runs from April through to October and the Club enjoys a full and comprehensive programme of fixtures, for both men and ladies. These range from friendly matches to the more serious County League and Luton & District League Matches. In addition, members may participate, both individually and collectively, in the County Tournaments (Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours). The Champions and Runners Up in these Competitions go on to represent Bedfordshire in the English Bowling Association National Championships at Worthing (Men) and Leamington Spa (Ladies). History Luton Town Bowling Club's record of achievement is unparalleled in the world of Bedfordshire County Bowling. The club has won the county's inter-club championship, known as the Harmsworth Cup, 25 times and players from our club have won through to the final stages of the National Championships on numerous occasions. In 2003 Luton Town Bowling Club once again won through to the final of the Harmsworth only to lose narrowly to Langford. In fact 2003 produced some historic results for the club… notably Beds. County Singles Champion, Beds. County Triples Champions, Beds. County Pairs Champions and the Beds. U25 Champion – Tom Cawdell – who subsequently went on to win the English National U25 Championship at Worthing.
