About Our Organisation
About Our Organisation:
The Disability Martial Arts Association has set up a data base of Martial Arts Academy’s School’s and Club’s in the UK & Internationally. That will teach people with all types of disabilities and there family's. When people phone or email us we will then be able to give them information of the said organisation.
We also run Ultimate Strike & Disability Martial Arts Academy in Enfield Middlesex UK. This club was set up to help people with disabilities and their families become involved in martial arts. Working side by side with the Charity the club is run by David Stephen and Matthew Lee (father and son’s)
,
The club is run with the aim of bringing something to the community that very few have dared to try. So people with all types of disabilities can get involved in the sport. This can help people with disabilities be more involved in the community and give them a place in society
Each year approximately 1
,
000 men
,
women and children become paralysed due to an accident or illness. Through sport these people whose lives have been traumatically changed
,
can have an outlet for their frustrations and energy. By focussing on something they can do
,
and potentially can excel in
,
increased confidence and a positive outlook can be achieved and this can influence other areas of their lives.
The Charity’s objects are
,
The relief of the disabled persons who are dependent on others for their daily care by provision of advice
,
assistance
,
support and information to such persons and those
,
especially spouses
,
partners and relatives
,
who have an unpaid responsibility for their daily care and treatment (“The Carers”). (The relief of poverty and mental or physical sickness or suffering amongst carers defined in the above object).
